About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work at the Civil and Criminal Litigation Unit of the Centro Administrativo Sicredi (CAS), located in Porto Alegre, serving the central and local cooperatives that make up the Sicredi system by monitoring, handling and managing the portfolio of judicial and administrative proceedings under the unit's responsibility.
- Monitor, conduct and manage highly complex civil judicial and administrative proceedings (collective actions, public civil actions, etc.) together with external law firms, guiding and directing defense, appeals and conciliation strategies, and providing technical support to other team members.
- Analyze scenarios and different situations from the perspective of potential risk exposure in the courts, using interpretation of legislation, doctrine and up-to-date jurisprudence to provide input and alternative perspectives for decision-making, assessing risks and proposing viable solutions for internal clients.
- Review cases, jurisprudential trends and critical concrete cases to propose business improvements aimed at preventing litigation and mitigating risks in judicial proceedings.
- Draft responses to inquiries and legal opinions on complex topics, always using objective language that is accessible to internal clients.
- Develop trainings and systemic legal guidance that promote a uniform understanding of the various topics involved in the daily operations of credit cooperatives, ongoing internal capacity building and comprehension of the different aspects of the products and services Sicredi provides to its members.
- Collaborate with other management teams within the Legal Superintendency (Business, Products and Contracts, and Legal Operations) and with other areas that make up CAS.
- Participate in various committees and associations representing Sicredi.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Law degree with active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
- Postgraduate degree in Law and Civil Procedure.
- Knowledge and practical experience in civil litigation and strategic litigation.
- Ability to analyze different aspects of the same issue, teamwork, negotiation skills, self-organization, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Differentials: Master's degree in Civil Procedure, postgraduate qualification in Banking Law and advanced English.
