About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead development and implementation of industry-standard equipment, custom automation, manufacturing technologies, and processes for future manufacturing systems
  • Define and validate manufacturing process parameters, process windows, and production readiness requirements
  • Develop and implement technologies and processes to improve product quality, decrease cycle times, simplify workflow, improve worker safety, and reduce environmental impact
  • Collaborate with product design and development personnel to ensure manufacturing processes and product designs are compatible through DFA input
  • Specify, qualify, commission, and transfer manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, verification systems, and automation
  • Collaborate with suppliers through FAT/SAT activities, installation support, and documented handoff to production
  • Use SPC, DOE, Cpk/Ppk analysis, FPY/yield analysis, cycle-time analysis, and OEE/UPH metrics to identify process variation and drive measurable improvements
  • Conceive and plan projects involving new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches for new or improved manufacturing processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in Engineering required; Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Proven competence in an engineering discipline
  • Project leadership experience desired
  • Management presentation skills and experience
  • English reading and writing skills preferred
  • Spanish or Mandarin helpful
  • Willingness to travel for project work locally and to sites in Mexico and China (>10%)
  • Experience with general office computer tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, and office communications
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing processes such as adhesive dispense, press fit, laser marking, soldering, cable and electro-mechanical assembly, vision system inspection, and rework processes preferred
  • Knowledge of process validation and production qualification methods, including pilot builds, first article builds, production readiness reviews, capability studies, and GR&R preferred
  • Proficiency with SPC, DOE, Cpk/Ppk, FPY/yield analysis, scrap and rework reduction, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem solving preferred
  • Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation, including PFMEAs, process specifications, work instructions, and training materials desired
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
