About the role
- Catalog and update existing packaging parts and documentation
- Identify opportunities for consolidation of existing parts
- Work directly with packaging suppliers to validate existing documentation and parts
- Create fully defined 3D models and associated 2D documentation using CAD (Siemens NX and ArtiosCAD)
- Endeavor to reduce the environmental impact of Shure packaging and monitor sustainability metrics
- Monitor and report on sustainable packaging performance metrics (cost, carbon footprint, waste reduction)
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging sustainable packaging technologies
- Support ongoing production/manufacturing via the engineering change process as needed
- Support Senior and Staff Packaging Engineers on projects and tasks
Requirements
- In-process of a Bachelor’s in Packaging Engineering or Packaging Science
- Previous packaging internship experience a plus
- Knowledge of packaging materials and structures
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics
- Familiarity with packaging software (ArtiosCAD, Cape Pack Palletizing Software) a plus
- Ability to create 3D models and 2D documentation using CAD (Siemens NX and ArtiosCAD) (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional, and global team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (no visa sponsorship)
