About the role
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to create, design & implement cutting-edge audio features and products
- Collaborate with engineers, software, signal processing, data science, testing teams, and product managers to define metrics and architectures
- Brainstorm and identify valuable AI/ML use cases for Shure customers and optimize platform solutions
- Design custom machine learning models and algorithms for single/multi-channel audio processing (speech enhancement, music enhancement, audio classification) within latency/computation constraints
- Transform and optimize models to meet implementation requirements and work with Software Engineers on features/frame rates/model structures
- Measure model/algorithm performance, fine-tune outcomes, and conduct subjective listening tests
- Identify and collect relevant data (purchase/license, in-house, simulation) to build training and test datasets
- Exploit ML and advanced DSP approaches to handle real-time, low-latency data pipelines and right-size solutions
- Survey literature, conduct original research and experiments, and share findings and prototypes with team and executives
- Record findings in collaborative documentation tools and contribute to intellectual property and brainstorming
- Utilize in-house annotation tools and/or third-party partners and adopt mature ML software engineering practices
- Track industry/academia progress, attend trainings/conferences, and integrate advancements into work
