About the role
- Develop advanced AI/ML algorithms and signal processing solutions for Shure products
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, signal processing experts, and test engineers to design and integrate algorithms
- Design custom machine learning models and algorithms for audio functionality (speech/music enhancement, audio classification) within latency/computation constraints
- Transform and optimize models for implementation and work with software engineers on features, frame rates, model structures
- Measure and fine-tune model/algorithm performance and conduct subjective listening tests
- Identify and collect relevant data for training/test datasets, including purchasing/licensing data and in-house collection
- Utilize ML and advanced DSP to handle real-time, low latency data pipelines and right-size solutions
- Survey literature, conduct research and experiments, share findings and prototypes
- Record findings and documentation; contribute to intellectual property and brainstorming
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
- Adopt mature ML software engineering practices (shared toolkits, repos, experiment tracking)
- Track industry/academia progress, attend conferences, and participate in working groups
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistic, physics, data science, machine learning or related field; with minimum 8 years of related experience
- Master’s degree in the same fields; with minimum 6 years of related experience
- PhD in the same fields; with minimum 3 years of related experience
- Proficiency in Python required
- Proficiency in C/C++ or Matlab preferred
- Proficiency with frameworks: PyTorch, Tensorflow, scikit-learn
- Proficiency with libraries: NumPy, Matplotlib
- Proficiency in tools: Git/GitHub, Docker, Jupyter, AWS, OnPrem GPU training tools
- Knowledge or experience with classical Digital Signal Processing (preferred)
- Proficiency in developing low latency, embedded-friendly solutions (preferred)
- Experience in Audio engineering, DAWs, recording, or other audio production (preferred)
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- 1 year of college is equivalent to 2 years of experience (education/experience equivalency noted)
