About the role

  • Provide family-centered, age appropriate clinical cardio pulmonary care
  • Utilize assessment findings in a timely manner to establish patient and family needs in collaboration with the health care team
  • Communicate findings in both verbal and written format
  • Seek personal/ professional development
  • Assure safe operation of life support equipment
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Take a leadership role as assigned
  • Act as a clinical resource to other departments
  • May precept staff after displaying proficiency
  • Participate in hospital / departmental committees, special projects and research

Requirements

  • Associate Respiratory Therapy RT License in state of practice
  • National Registration by National Board for Respiratory Therapy
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Preferred: 2 Years in ICU setting, Pediatric/Adult RT intensive care
