About the role
- Provide family-centered, age-appropriate clinical cardio pulmonary care
- Utilize assessment findings to establish patient and family needs in collaboration with the health care team
- Communicate findings in both verbal and written format
- Seek personal/professional development
- Assure safe operation of the life support equipment
- Take a leadership role as assigned
- Act as a clinical resource to other departments
- May precept staff after displaying proficiency
- Participate in hospital/departmental committees, special projects, and research
Requirements
- Associate Respiratory Therapy RT License in state of practice
- National Registration by National Board for Respiratory Therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Preferred 5 years in ICU setting, Pediatric/Adult RT intensive care
