About the role
- You develop and maintain scalable, event-driven backend services in Golang — including core DataBus services, ingestion, transformation and routing.
- You implement and optimize event-streaming pipelines based on Kafka or Redpanda.
- For central commerce objects such as products, inventory and orders, you develop robust transformation and validation logic.
- You design and maintain multi-tenant, cloud-native APIs (REST and GraphQL) to integrate external systems.
- You build observability and monitoring with OpenTelemetry, metrics and tracing, ensuring data reliability and fault tolerance.
- You optimize AWS deployments (ECS/EKS, Terraform/IaC, S3, Secrets Manager).
- You contribute to resilience through backpressure strategies, retries and failover mechanisms across distributed workloads.
- You strengthen tenant scaling and data isolation within the event-driven platform.
- Optionally, you work on frontend integration via the Nexus Workflow Builder to visualize data flows.
Requirements
- At least five years of backend experience in Golang or another statically typed language (e.g. Rust, Java) provide you with a solid foundation.
- Experience with distributed systems and high-availability architectures enables you to design resilient services.
- Knowledge of API design (REST/GraphQL), data modeling and database performance (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis) ensures reliable interfaces.
- A strong understanding of event-streaming systems (Kafka, Redpanda, NATS, etc.) empowers you to build high-throughput pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably AWS) as well as containerized deployments using Docker and CI/CD pipelines supports efficient delivery.
- An understanding of microservice architectures, pub/sub messaging and stream processing (e.g. Flink or similar) complements your toolkit.
- Clear, honest and direct communication, a willingness to explore and innovate, and strong problem-solving skills help you work effectively across teams.
- Interest in low-code/workflow automation tools and a drive to take ownership and deliver results characterize your working style.
- Not required but advantageous: experience with Redpanda Connect or comparable managed streaming platforms, exposure to Flink, Kubernetes or Terraform, familiarity with the Shopware ecosystem or e-commerce data models, and practical experience with observability pipelines or multi-tenant SaaS services — all of which give you noticeable impact.
- You are fluent in English and use it naturally in your daily work.
Benefits
- Open culture, flat hierarchies and encouragement of initiative.
- Permanent contracts providing long-term security.
- Flexible working hours and options for mobile work and full-remote contracts.
- Free choice of work hardware.
- Well-structured onboarding with support from a personal "buddy".
- Inspiring environment with committed colleagues and a dynamic community.
- Diverse opportunities for personal growth and development.
- Attractive benefits such as company pension schemes, health programs and regular team events.
