About the role
- Contribute to the strategic management of multiple categories in Austria by translating overarching company and country objectives into concrete category initiatives and initiating appropriate countermeasures when targets are missed.
- Work closely with Controlling, Country Management and the extended Country Management team as part of the annual planning and forecasting processes.
- Provide category expertise, market knowledge and data-driven recommendations to support sound financial planning.
- Continuously optimize the assortment strategy and the onboarding roadmap, including bundles and sets, to increase average basket value and contribution margins while maintaining strong market coverage.
- Act as a strategic interface with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Pricing, Procurement, CRO, Marketplace, CRM, Country Management) to ensure aligned execution and actively shape country-specific projects.
- Lead a small team of three Category Managers, support their professional and personal development, and establish efficient processes and scalable ways of working.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in Category Management within e-commerce or highly online-driven business models (e.g., marketplace, food delivery, online retail), ideally with experience managing at a country level and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Practical experience in forecasting, margin control and performance management, and a solid understanding of how category decisions impact the P&L.
- Experience as a member of a Steering Committee or comparable body, and the motivation to actively contribute to cross-commercial topics.
- Ability to comprehend complex relationships and derive strategic priorities from data, market trends and company objectives.
