About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, develop, and enable a growing Data Science team of internal and external colleagues
Set priorities, support professional development, and foster an inclusive, high-performing environment
Act as a hands-on technical sparring partner on data science, machine learning, and model evaluation
Balance business needs with analytical rigor and scalable implementation
Strengthen experimentation and measurement practices across Data & AI
Advise product teams on A/B testing, success metrics, statistical methodology, power analyses, and experimental results
Collaborate with Data & AI leaders to shape priorities, share expertise, build complementary capabilities, and raise technical standards
Contribute to team growth through hiring and onboarding
Support product teams including demand forecasting and replenishment and retail media products

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of experience in applied Data Science and Machine Learning
Experience delivering data science or ML products in production environments
Proven experience in people management
Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, causal measurement, or power analysis
Strategic perspective combined with willingness to stay hands-on
Technical expertise in modelling, evaluation, data quality, and machine learning practices
Strong expertise in Python, SQL, statistical modelling, and large-scale data processing
Experience working in a cross-functional product environment
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English
German language skills are a plus, but not required
Experience with demand forecasting, replenishment, retail, sponsored ads, e-commerce, or similarly complex operational data science products is a plus
