About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and lead end-to-end negotiation and drafting of complex, high-value commercial agreements, including customer agreements, API and data contracts, and vendor deals.
- Partner closely with our go-to-market, product, marketing, finance, and security teams to help identify and assess risks and to drive practical, efficient solutions that move the company forward.
- Lead design and implementation of AI‑enabled legal workflows to improve speed, consistency, and scale while maintaining appropriate human oversight and accountability.
- Advise on the legal aspects of AI, data use, and automation, helping to operationalize responsible AI practices.
- Provide senior leadership with clear, decisive guidance on legal and regulatory risk — balancing legal and business risks and translating complexity into actionable recommendations.
- Identify emerging legal and regulatory challenges and develop strategies to address them before they become issues.
- Build and maintain relationships across the organization, functioning as a go-to resource for cross-functional partners.
- Learn from and teach the other members of the team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep expertise leading complex commercial negotiations, with significant time in-house at a technology or SaaS company.
- Demonstrated track record of independently leading and closing complex, high-stakes commercial negotiations.
- Experience providing value additive and business oriented counsel to product and technology teams.
- Working knowledge of two of the three areas: marketing, intellectual property, or privacy law.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools for scaling legal operations, contract review, redlining, risk identification, automating tasks, and legal research.
- Proven ability to provide strategic, time-sensitive, business-oriented counsel to executives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences.
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, data protection, and cloud contracting best practices.
- Strong judgment in navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and knowing what risks are worth taking and when to escalate.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build credibility and influence without authority.
