About the role

  • Own end-to-end program strategy for Shippo’s carrier integration portfolio, across new integrations, API upgrades, and new capability rollouts.
  • Drive execution of complex, multi-team initiatives that require alignment between R&D, carrier partnerships, GTM, finance, and operations.
  • Anticipate and articulate risks, and plan mitigations that ensure high quality delivery.
  • Represent Shippo at a senior level with external carrier technical and operational stakeholders.
  • Define and track KPIs for integration quality, delivery predictability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers and tech leads to ensure architectural decisions align with program goals, including scalability, reusability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Challenge assumptions and surface trade-off risks where needed, ensuring short-term design choices don’t undermine long-term integration health.
  • Establish best practices for building and upgrading carrier integrations (e.g., API patterns, reliability standards, onboarding playbooks).
  • Drive adoption of reusable frameworks and integration toolkits across engineering teams to improve consistency and speed.
  • Own execution metrics for integration health and delivery (e.g., upgrade cycle adherence, incident reduction, SLA compliance).
  • Develop governance models and reporting structures that give leadership visibility into integration health, performance, and risks.

  • Strong understanding of API integrations and their impact on end-user experiences, including core technical concepts such as OAuth, webhooks, and related standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis to drive prioritization and scoping decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to tailor messages to technical and non-technical audiences
