About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape the Always-On Audit service and determine what it checks and how it resolves issues
  • Turn billing discrepancies into repeatable audit rules, tolerance thresholds, and automated dispute workflows
  • Represent audit in roadmap and priority decisions
  • Tie the service to financial reporting, payment file generation, and finance-system integration
  • Build and run a repeatable client onboarding process
  • Assemble stakeholder teams, gather requirements, run demos, set up invoice feeds, review early findings, configure dashboards and tolerances, and run side-by-side comparisons with clients' current audit providers
  • Ensure onboarding proof points for discrepancy detection, reporting and data feeds, GL coding, dispute processes, and payment file generation
  • Serve as the client point of contact for questions, concerns, and disputes
  • Provide recurring audit reviews, rule tuning, and repeat-issue resolution for managed-service clients
  • Own escalated disputes through carrier account teams and track them to closure
  • Work with carrier operations and carriers to automate reconciliation and improve billing and dispute standards
  • Lead carrier-by-carrier improvements in invoice formats, detail levels, surcharge and accessorial data, and dispute mechanics
  • Lead Audit Advisors and own the speed, accuracy, and coverage of their work
  • Manage staffing and workload through the busy invoice season from December through February

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years in parcel, freight, or transportation billing audit, including carrier billing, accessorials and surcharges, contract-rate validation, disputes, and recovery
  • 5+ years working with carrier invoice data (EDI, API, or flat file) and reconciling it back to finance, including GL coding and payment files
  • 3+ years partnering with a software or technology team to configure audit rules, tolerances, and dispute workflows, turning audit findings into repeatable checks
  • 5+ years in a client-facing or account-management role, owning senior stakeholders and escalations, ideally with enterprise retailers or brands
  • 2+ years leading a team of audit analysts, specialists, or similar, setting quality and pace
  • Familiarity with major carriers' dispute systems and filing windows, and where regional carriers fall short
  • Retail finance context: the 4-5-4 close, transportation accruals, and shipped-not-invoiced treatment
  • Exposure to ACH settlement and payment authorization models
