About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate with, provide data to, and quality-check the deliverables of our external tax consulting firms.
- Learn, manage, and eventually own our annual tax provisioning process (ASC 740).
- Support overall tax compliance, including estimated tax payments, sales tax processes, and 1099 compliance.
- Spend roughly 20% of your time assisting the GL team with close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and ad-hoc requests.
- Identify and communicate tax risks and savings opportunities to senior management while streamlining internal GL and tax processes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-6 years of experience, ideally starting in public accounting.
- Direct experience with tax compliance and tax provisioning (ASC 740 is a must).
- A willingness to tackle general ledger work and familiarity with general accounting principles.
- A self-starter mentality. You need to be comfortable working independently, managing your own deadlines, and context-switching between tax and GL tasks.
- Bonus points: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and experience with NetSuite, Avalara or managing outsourced tax preparers.
