About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure day-to-day financial records and supporting documents of transactions are accurate, complete, and consistently maintained within the accounting system and physical filing repositories.
- Perform and reconcile bank accounts promptly, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Drive month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation within established timelines.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audit requirements by preparing complete documentation and addressing audit inquiries promptly.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, government agencies, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions and timely compliance.
- Ensure timely compliance with internal company policies and statutory requirements, including submissions and reporting to government agencies such as PEZA, BOI, BIR, and other regulatory bodies.
- Support administrative functions
- Collaborate with internal and external teammates to resolve issues, improve coordination, and achieve departmental objectives.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, recommend practical solutions, and contribute to initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Perform any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum educational attainment of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related fields
- Solid and consistent experience in accounting and government agency/tax compliance, preferably with an audit or accounting firm serving local clients
- Knowledgeable in accounting principles, financial concepts, tax, and other government rulings
- Proficient in the use of accounting tools and platforms such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and government websites such as EFPS, ORUS, PTOPS, SSS, PhilHealth, and HDMF
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Willing to work in a hybrid work arrangement
