About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, installation details, layout drawings, and construction documents
  • Complete assigned tasks according to construction project specifications
  • Perform mechanical and electrical installation of control panels and instrumentation
  • Install rigid, EMT, PVC-coated rigid conduit, service feeders, branch circuits, controls, fiber, network cabling, stainless tubing, and instrumentation
  • Install service equipment, MCCs, and panelboards
  • Perform field wiring of control panels and instrumentation
  • Install, calibrate, and commission pressure, flow, level, temperature, and analytical instruments
  • Assist with troubleshooting instrumentation, control valves, process controllers, PLC hardware, and control systems
  • Assist with repair, testing, and installation of control panels, PLCs, I/O modules, and communications equipment
  • Ensure safety is maintained as a personal core value
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety requirements
  • Travel approximately 90%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician license preferred but not required
  • Two-year Associate’s degree in Automation & Controls, Instrumentation, or similar technical program highly preferred
  • 2+ years industrial electrical power and controls field experience preferred
  • Ability to work safely and contribute to a safety-focused team
  • ISA CCST certification preferred
  • Willingness to learn and work hands-on in the field alongside engineers and field technicians
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment
  • Familiarity with field instruments, electronic test equipment, control valves, control panels
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools, ladders, manlifts, etc.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work out-of-town with regular overnight travel
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required
  • Must pass pre-employment and periodic random drug tests
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa
  • Must fluently read, write, and speak English
