About the role
- Oversee electrical services jobs: inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, performing start-up and collecting data of low, medium and high voltage electrical systems (to 500kV)
- Perform moderately complex relay calibration and power metering
- At least 50% of job duties performed in the field
- Pre-planning, walk-throughs and work with sales on estimating and quoting jobs
- Identify and assign individual job assignments for crew members
- Interface with customers, attend meetings, provide job updates and resolve issues
- Identify opportunities for expanded job scope and coordinate with Account Manager
- Communicate with Account Manager on additional billing
- Monitor job budget by reviewing technicians’ job time and material costs
- Conduct final job walk with customer before energizing and ensure successful start-up
- Complete, compile and review reports for accuracy and provide to Production Manager
- Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prefer Associate’s degree in Electrical Power or equivalent technical training
- Similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, NAVY Seabee) accepted
- 5+ years of experience project managing electrical maintenance shutdowns/turnarounds or switchgear commissioning
- Prefer experience with Doble software, automated CT set, PowerDB, RTS or Protest relay testing
- Experience with oil testing, infrared scanning, automatic transfer switching, VFDs, and performing start-up on switchgear up through 500kV class
- NETA Certification a plus
- General PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Office
- Experience with PowerDB a plus
- OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training a plus
- Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures
- Ability to rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner
