About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff
- Plan, manage, and execute electrical engineering projects across industrial and utility sectors
- Perform power system analysis and design, including both new installations and system upgrades
- Design and integrate protective relaying systems (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms)
- Support substation automation solutions, including RTUs, HMIs, communications, and control systems
- Conduct electrical studies such as: Short-circuit and coordination studies, Arc-flash hazard analysis, Load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies
- Create, review, and approve electrical drawing packages, including: Single-line and three-line diagrams, Schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements
- Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, CTs/PTs, protective devices, relays, and controls
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues and develop practical, client-focused solutions
- Support field services teams during maintenance, commissioning, and site activities as needed
- Perform onsite inspections and technical data collection
- Contribute to proposal development, estimates, and technical input for client engagements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan
- 6+ years of overall experience, including a minimum of 3+ years of experience obtained after earning P.Eng. designation, in relevant power systems engineering.
- Experience with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) is an asset
- Familiarity with protection relays and substation/automation systems is an asset
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork
