About the role
- Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions, including data pipelines, models, and reports.
- Manage the full report lifecycle, from data ingestion to publication, documentation, and training.
- Implement robust data models using Power BI, focusing on scalability, accuracy, and performance.
- Reverse engineer processes and logic to document and improve existing reporting workflows.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary and catalog for the organization’s data estate.
- Partner with stakeholders across all business areas to understand requirements and identify Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for rapid development.
- Translate business needs into actionable KPIs, metrics, and visualizations that drive decision-making.
- Provide training and support to business users to promote self-service analytics.
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric features to optimize data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.
- Utilize the Microsoft Technology Stack (365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) to streamline collaboration and workflows.
- Work within Agile development practices, including sprint planning, task tracking, and collaboration using tools like Jira.
- Lead efforts to track, standardize, and improve organizational metrics/KPI reporting.
- Implement best practices for BI development, including version control, governance, and documentation.
- Proactively identify and address gaps in data quality, reporting processes, or infrastructure scalability.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in data and BI.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data modeling and report development.
- Relevant certifications and/or advanced degrees a plus
- Extensive experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, report creation, and publishing.
- Expertise in designing and implementing data and BI solutions, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and dashboards.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and other tools in the Microsoft Stack (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, Power Query, etc).
- Strong understanding of data ethics, governance, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in SQL required, Python is a plus.
