About the role
- Oversee daily operations of the Procurement Operations department
- Present progress and results to high level executives
- Develop and track KPIs to monitor and improve supplier and procurement coordinator performance
- Drive adoption of Most Preferred Suppliers via multi-channel communication across 40+ office locations and operations teams
- Develop a Steering Committee to enable partnership with stakeholders
- Partner and communicate with Accounts Payable and other departments
- Create procurement policies and procedures and manage internal Procurement Gateway
- Operate and roll out procurement technology, develop purchasing channels including catalogs and punch-outs
- Conduct “BID to Buy” negotiations and reach pricing agreements
- Support brick-and-mortar location moves, acquisitions, and new openings
- Own apparel and office supplies programs including supplier development
- Manage Procurement Operations team including Procurement Supervisor and Coordinators; create accountability and encourage growth
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks such as vendor or stakeholder non-compliance
- Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 10+ years Procurement experience
- Minimum of 5+ years Management experience including managing people
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong business acumen and ability to converse with all levels, including executive leadership
- Process oriented with experience creating end-to-end purchasing processes
- Ability to influence people
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Experience managing a group of PO creators
- Procurement technology implementation experience and experience creating catalogs with procurement technology
- Strong negotiation skills to drive savings
- Experience working with internal finance and A/P departments
- Experience in the electrical/power industry helpful but not required
- Experience working for a Fortune 500 company desired but not required
