About the role
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed assigned revenue goals.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across assigned territories and industries.
- Manage existing accounts to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
- Conduct regular site visits and account reviews to maintain strong client relationships.
- Prepare and present detailed sales proposals, estimates, and technical presentations.
- Partner closely with engineering and operations teams to align customer needs with Shermco’s service capabilities.
- Represent Shermco at trade shows, conferences, and customer training events.
- Track all sales activity, opportunities, and communications in CRM.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for pricing, contract terms, and issue resolution.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to provide consultative insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years in B2B outside sales, preferably in the engineering, industrial, or electrical power industries
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in: Electrical testing, maintenance, or field services (480 VAC to 345 kV)
- Electrical commissioning, power engineering, or T&D/substation projects
- Studies such as Arc Flash, Coordination, Load Flow, and Transient Analysis
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales goals.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, strategic thinking, and consultative selling skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe).
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 20% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform site visits as needed.
- Must pass pre-employment background check, drug test, and fit-for-duty exam.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
