About the role

  • Supports survivors in the community experiencing domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and/or human trafficking who are at imminent risk of homelessness.
  • Provides time-limited direct services to clients by assessing client needs and connecting clients to appropriate services.
  • Advocates to ensure the provision of comprehensive services to increase safety and achieve housing stability.
  • Conducts in-depth assessments of clients’ physical, mental health and social needs, life skills competency, employability, housing history and barriers, educational needs, financial management skills, strengths and needs.
  • Administers flexible financial assistance to support client goals related to safety and stability.
  • Provides mobile advocacy services by meeting with assigned clients regularly in safe locations in the community.
  • Provides crisis intervention and develops individualized safety plans, assists victims in filing for protective orders, and accompanies clients to court proceedings.
  • Provides housing search assistance and establishes relationships with local landlords.
  • Collaborates with clients to develop monthly budgets and provide connections to financial literacy programs as needed.
  • Documents all client contacts and maintains complete client records in accordance with agency standards.
  • Provides domestic violence psychoeducation to clients using educational tools.
  • Empowers clients to work toward their individual goals and completes ongoing reviews of client service plans.
  • Works with the Senior Case Manager to ensure services are implemented in accordance with agency philosophy and regulations.
  • Collaborates with community providers for comprehensive wrap-around services.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work/human services/ related field or commensurate experience
  • 1+ years of human services or direct services experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities and make sound judgements
  • Ability to complete tasks while navigating frequent interruptions
  • Ability to deliver creative, resourceful solutions to unique challenges
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation/ 10-15% local travel for appointments
  • Ability to Drive a minivan
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when needed
  • Experience with providing services to victims of domestic violence, mental health issues, and substance abuse (Preferred)
  • Foreign Language fluency in a language other than English (ex. Spanish, Farsi, Arabic or Amharic) (Preferred)
  • Annual TB Test is required (Physical Requirements)
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods (Physical Requirements)
  • Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds (Physical Requirements)
