About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engage with visitors, enter food and beverage orders through a Point-of-Sales system, bring meals to customers, and support Farm Cart Cook as needed.
- Maintain a clean and tidy space both inside the food cart and in the public eating areas including the additional indoor eating space (pipe room in Farm Barn).
- Set-up and break-down the Farm Cart before and after opening.
- Take inventory of supplies and restock each day.
- Remove rubbish from the cart and public eating area throughout the day.
- Greet and orient diverse audiences to the Farm Barn including day visitors from around the world, overnight inn guests.
- Provide information about the Shelburne Farms campus, history, products, and services.
Requirements

- Organized: Much like a food truck at a busy event, our Farm Cart is a high-volume, quality food service operation and requires you to be accountable for operating all customer service and cashier functions for the farm cart while the cook focuses on food preparation.
- Food Systems passionate: Share our passion of producing nutritious food for human health while supporting sustainable food systems.
- Mission-Aligned: Your primary focus is listening to, learning from, and supporting all folks who engage with the Farm Cart in a meaningful way that aligns with our mission and core values.
