Business Manager
Shawmut CorporationBusiness Manager overseeing commercial performance within Shawmut’s Automotive division. Managing quoting processes, budgeting, and forecasting in a fully remote role with specific state requirements.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and manage the end-to-end quoting process for both sample and production quotations.
- Ensure receipt of Sample PO and hand over to Program Management for sample production.
- Serve as the primary internal point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Lead contract review processes, including evaluation of award letters, purchase orders, terms & conditions, and other customer documentation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure handover of approved program documentation to Program Management.
- Develop and maintain detailed cost breakdowns whenever required.
- Manage communication with the customer to clarify RFQ information.
- Participate in customer meetings and events when required.
- Lead the forecasting and budgeting process by consolidating input from Key Account Managers and ensuring accurate system updates (pricing, volumes, SOP/EOP, commercial status etc.).
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and other cross functional departments to meet customer delivery and quality expectations.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) using Power BI.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or sales operations preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier suppliers is strongly preferred.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in process and data management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
- Strong organizational and process management capabilities.
- Sense of urgency and prioritization to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Awareness of need for escalation.
