About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and execute assigned internal audits from planning through reporting
  • Conduct process walkthroughs and evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Develop audit findings and recommendations, assess cross-functional impact, and identify root causes
  • Communicate audit status, issues, risks, and results to Internal Audit leadership, stakeholders, auditees, and managers

  • Meet time budgets and task due dates and report deviations
  • Communicate work status and future needs to Internal Audit management
  • Keep current with trends and developments in internal auditing, healthcare, and related fields

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in healthcare finance or operations, accounting, or auditing at a healthcare provider, public accounting firm, or internal audit department
  • Knowledge of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
  • Knowledge of COSO internal controls concepts
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and healthcare operations
  • Knowledge of contemporary internal audit practices, accounting, and information systems
  • Effective communication and relationship skills at staff and executive levels
