About the role
- Build and own a portfolio of applications on top of the Shakudo OS end-to-end (design, implementation, quality, release, iteration)
- Influence hiring and shape the engineering team as the company scales
- Work onsite in the Toronto office for fast feedback loops and high-velocity shipping
- Shape application architecture and shared components
- Develop a suite of apps from 0→1 to 1→n
- Define and uphold app-level quality bars: testing, observability, release health, and performance targets
- Improve developer experience: CI/CD for apps, code standards, reviews, and documentation
- Partner with PM/Design on product direction and iterate rapidly with customers
- Mentor team members and participate in hiring
Requirements
- Proficiency with TypeScript
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience with Postgres
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Scalable SaaS experience, ideally at a start-up
- Product-minded engineer with taste for clean design and great UX
- Ability to shape app architecture and shared patterns
- Comfort with ambiguity; turn unknowns into clarity and results
- Curiosity for new tech and LLM‑assisted coding (aka vibe coding)
