About the role

  • Lead high-impact ambiguous initiatives: Own the most complex product challenges, turning unclear problems into clear, actionable solutions from design through execution.
  • Shape product and design direction: Partner with product and engineering teams to influence roadmap decisions, drive strategy, and ensure we’re solving the right problems.
  • Design for measurable impact: Deliver experiences that improve core metrics such as activation, engagement, retention, and conversion while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Operate across teams and product areas: Work cross-functionally to ensure a consistent product experience across surfaces, aligning teams and promoting large-scale consistency.
  • Elevate design systems as a strategic lever: Lead the evolution of scalable design systems and patterns to improve quality, speed, and consistency across the organization.
  • Raise the bar for design: Establish standards for craft and execution. Provide high-impact feedback, guide critical work, and help define what excellence looks like at Shakepay.
  • Coach and amplify team impact: Support and mentor designers through actionable feedback, collaboration, and leading by example, making the entire team more effective.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing and shipping high-quality consumer products.
  • Proven track record leading complex, ambiguous initiatives with measurable impact.
  • Strong product-minded thinking, with the ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
  • Experience influencing product direction and aligning teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to operate at multiple levels, from systems and strategy to detailed execution.
  • Deep understanding of scalable design systems and patterns.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills across disciplines and levels.
  • Collaborative by default, with strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
  • Comfortable with tools like Figma and interaction prototyping to bring ideas to life.
  • Passion for Bitcoin, financial empowerment, and the future of money.
