About the role
- Manage the technical services of the protein category including inventory systems, demand planning, pricing compliance, and special projects
- Plans and coordinates relationships with protein, alternative proteins, and breading suppliers for the US Supply Chain
- Provides information to cross functional departments, working with the leader of protein procurement to control and supervise supplier issues assessing root causes
- Seeks improvement opportunities and associated risks
- Provides forecasts to all protein suppliers at a regular cadence to ensure adequate stock
- Communicates timely expansion plans and new volume changes to suppliers
- Maintains full-cycle supplier relationships including business reviews, and pricing compliance
- Effectively analyzes, manages, and communicates any cost optimization opportunities
- Supports pricing audits of proteins and ensures pricing accuracy
- Manages sourcing, planning, tracking, and reporting on product development life cycle
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-4 years work experience
- 1-3 years supervisory experience
- Related experience as a Buyer at a food distributor, Chain restaurant category manager, Protein manufacturer analyst, production planner, or plant operations
- Food & Beverage Supply Chain experience
- Basic knowledge of food service distribution
- Agriculture economics & commodities knowledge
- Protein processing
