About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform third-party audits according to SGS Certification procedures and applicable standards
  • Make relevant decisions regarding the audit process and inform SGS Business Assurance about issues outside the audit process
  • Collect and analyze sufficient information to provide a recommendation for certification
  • Control and perform auditing activities, including planning and controlling other audit team members
  • Qualify as a Lead Auditor in more than one standard and conduct integrated audits when required
  • Perform certification audits in accordance with SGS global/local procedures and sector-specific schemes and standards
  • Determine, based on audit evidence, whether registration should be recommended or allowed to continue
  • Operate the SGS Certification System in all auditing activities
  • Collaborate with auditor teams during auditing activities
  • Provide customers with sufficient audit experience to cover SGS Certification's accredited activities
  • Participate in witness audits by SGS or accreditation bodies
  • Maintain audit-related credentials
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in science or bioscience is most preferable; other science degrees may be considered with relevant additional training
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in a proven management function in the PCP industry, including minimum 2 years in quality assurance or quality and safety management system coordination (required)
  • Minimum 5 years auditing experience and qualification as an ISO lead auditor, especially for pharmaceutical or OTC products (required)
  • Minimum 4 years of medical device experience (preferred)
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and/or ISO 50001 management systems (preferred)
  • Experience delivering training (preferred)
  • Advanced-level English (required)
  • Spanish (preferred)
  • Must be authorized to travel to and provide auditing services in the United States, Canada, and Mexico
  • Qualified as a Lead Auditor in more than one standard, such as ISO 22716, EU GMP, WHO GMP/GDP, EFfCI, EXCiPACT, ISO 15378, or ISO 9001
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% by automobile or airplane, including possible international travel and weekend travel
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations
