About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multiple low-value, medium-risk flood-mitigation schemes from concept through to completion—ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Report to the Lead Project Manager and take ownership of delivering the Flood Mitigation Programme.
- Define scope and coordinate design, manage NEC contracts, engage customers, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Play a key role in reducing flood impacts across our networks and supporting those we serve.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in flood risk, drainage, or water engineering (desirable)
- Understanding of flood-mitigation techniques, surface water systems, and drainage (desirable)
- Experience working within the NEC project management framework
- Strong application of risk-management principles, particularly around customers and flood-affected areas
- Experience working with flood-risk and civil engineering standards, building regulations, and best practice
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver flood-mitigation outcomes
- Knowledge and practical application of CDM regulations for infrastructure delivery
- Experience collaborating with supply chain partners to meet milestones, H&S standards, specifications, and quality requirements
- Qualifications: Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or Environmental discipline (desirable)
- APM or NEC accreditation (desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
