About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Severn Trent’s Underground Water network.
Tasked with the upkeep of our Clean Water Network and any required repairs of our Clean Water Main Assets.
Conduct excavation within public highway on Severn Trent sites and private lands.
Put the needs of customers first, responding to and resolving any issues raised by customers or members of the public.
Use stakeholder management skills to liaise with other departments and contract partners.
Undertake the full range of duties involved in delivering an effective repair and maintenance service including the repair and replacement of existing water mains & ancillary assets, laying and also working on valves, washouts & meters.
Operate machinery out on site and use up-to-date technology to help with data upkeep.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A full UK driving License is needed as you will be required to independently travel to depots/ bases.
This role is physically demanding and will require an individual who has good strength and stamina.
The ability to apply rational thinking and technical expertise to resolve complex challenges.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complicated technical messages in a simple way.
A positive attitude with a strong customer focus are essential.
