About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment across Bioresources sites
Ensure that all systems run efficiently and safely
Support the production of biomethane gas, electricity, and biosolids in line with environmental regulations and industry standards
Collaborate with internal teams across Bioresources and Wastewater Recycling
Take part in a standby rota
Carry out hands-on tasks such as fabrication, welding, lubrication, and operating workshop machinery
Diagnose faults and perform inspections
Monitor treatment systems using SCADA and respond to alarms
Ensure compliance with lifting operations and safety regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Level 3 NVQ in mechanical engineering is essential for this role
Strong understanding of health and safety in high-risk environments
Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Experience managing contractors and suppliers
Good communication and collaboration skills
Comfortable using IT tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records
