About the role
- Lead our data, monitoring, and analytics strategy, architecting the systems and developing the capabilities that will become the single source of truth for infiltration
- Transform how we use data, from deploying a strategic monitoring network to developing new, enhanced and predictive models as well as creating dashboards that drive multi-million-pound investment decisions
- Develop and execute the full data, monitoring, and analytics strategy for the project
- Identify appropriate data sources, oversee the implementation of strategic monitoring techniques
- Design and build the programme’s Infiltration Dashboard
- Develop and implement a methodology for quantifying benefits
- Act as the analytical hub for the programme, offering vital data support to teams involved in strategic investigation, delivery, and performance tracking
- Champion a data-driven culture by promoting the importance of data quality and evidence-based decision-making
- Enhance our analytical capabilities by applying statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns
- Explore and implement machine learning or similar models to generate predictive insights into infiltration hotspots.
Requirements
- Strong data analysis skills and experience working with large, complex datasets to solve practical problems
- Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Python or R, and platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
- Strategic mindset, capable of designing future-proof data architectures and analytics roadmaps
- Strong problem-solving abilities and an inquisitive nature
- Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to non-technical audiences
- Candidates from a range of technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including data science, engineering, environmental science, hydrogeology, physics, and asset management
- Familiarity with data platforms, governance, and quality management is desirable
- Knowledge of statistical modelling, predictive analytics, or machine learning
- A degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics is preferred.
