About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead all preconstruction activities, including estimating support, scheduling, logistics planning, procurement strategy, and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to finalize project scope, design intent, and execution plans.
  • Review, negotiate, and administer client, subcontractor, and vendor contracts.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, including assistant project managers, project engineers, and field staff, fostering accountability and collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling software.
  • Coordinate project sequencing, subcontractor activities, material procurement, and site logistics to ensure timely project delivery while proactively mitigating risks and delays.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting to maintain profitability.
  • Review and approve subcontractor/vendor invoices, pay applications, and change orders while controlling costs and minimizing scope creep.
  • Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Oversee project quality control and ensure compliance with contract documents, company standards, and project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, quality, and safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while promoting a strong safety culture across all project teams.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships through proactive communication, regular progress updates, budget reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including final inspections, commissioning, punch list completion, turnover documentation, warranties, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or related program
  • 5-10+ years general contracting or facilities experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated skills in construction project management
  • Proven ability to manage commercial, residential, or institutional projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
  • Proficient in Smart Sheet, Procore, Building Connected, and other project management software
  • OSHA 30, or ability to acquire, is required
  • State/local General Contractors license is preferred
  • PMP and CQMC are preferred
  • LEED Accreditation or experience with sustainable building practices is preferred
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
