About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own TPR review engagements end to end.
- Perform loan-level credit review on non-QM consumer files covering income, assets, liabilities, credit, and collateral.
- Make and defend the exception decisions that come out of the review.
- Translate each client's scope and guidelines into the review.
- Communicate findings and manage timelines against SLA while coordinating with internal operations, product, and compliance.
- Keep grading consistent across a book of loans, resolve files and escalations that fall outside guideline.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years in residential mortgage credit, with meaningful time in TPR or loan-level due diligence.
- Recent, hands-on non-QM underwriting. You have graded files yourself in the last year, not just overseen people who do.
- Ability to make and defend exception decisions to a client or rating agency, including complex and alternative income analysis and valuation review.
- Direct experience communicating findings to clients and handling pushback on exceptions or defects.
- Working knowledge of consumer compliance as it applies to review, including high-cost tests and product-specific disclosure requirements.
- Ability to run to SLAs and competing deadlines without letting review quality slip.
