About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support systemic aircraft issues as related to the Intelsat airborne system
- Define, Review and Modify installation/Maintenance documents and procedures
- Proactively identify, develop, and drive opportunities to improve processes and tools to increase the overall effectiveness of the team
- Lead cross functional teams on triaging system interaction issues and driving them to closure
- Define dashboards and metrics; establish SLA for the work conducted
- Create, review, and modify maintenance manuals, fault isolation manuals, Service bulletins
- Proactively identify defects by reviewing system data logs
- Collect data and generate weekly/monthly metrics on all issues reported, triaged and resolved meeting the defined SLA
- Be an SME for HDW related technical issues and training other team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certifications
- At least 2 years of experience in an aircraft fleet support or engineering role, ideally within the Avionics industry
- Ability to address and troubleshoot problems associated with aircraft-based equipment
- Has used electronic test equipment before
- Strong skills in reading electrical schematics
- Knowledge with aircraft wiring (power, data bus, discrete I/O, Quadrax)
- Experience with avionics and flight systems
- This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident)
- Beneficial to Have Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet familiarity
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience with IP networking
- FAA, RTCA & ARINC standards and regulations familiarity
