About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support systemic aircraft issues as related to the Intelsat airborne system
Define, Review and Modify installation/Maintenance documents and procedures
Proactively identify, develop, and drive opportunities to improve processes and tools to increase the overall effectiveness of the team
Lead cross functional teams on triaging system interaction issues and driving them to closure
Define dashboards and metrics; establish SLA for the work conducted
Create, review, and modify maintenance manuals, fault isolation manuals, Service bulletins
Proactively identify defects by reviewing system data logs
Collect data and generate weekly/monthly metrics on all issues reported, triaged and resolved meeting the defined SLA
Be an SME for HDW related technical issues and training other team members

Requirements

What you’ll need

Required FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certifications
At least 2 years of experience in an aircraft fleet support or engineering role, ideally within the Avionics industry
Ability to address and troubleshoot problems associated with aircraft-based equipment
Has used electronic test equipment before
Strong skills in reading electrical schematics
Knowledge with aircraft wiring (power, data bus, discrete I/O, Quadrax)
Experience with avionics and flight systems
This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident)
Beneficial to Have Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet familiarity
Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience with IP networking
FAA, RTCA & ARINC standards and regulations familiarity
