About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support systemic aircraft issues as related to the Intelsat airborne system
  • Define, Review and Modify installation/Maintenance documents and procedures
  • Proactively identify, develop, and drive opportunities to improve processes and tools to increase the overall effectiveness of the team
  • Lead cross functional teams on triaging system interaction issues and driving them to closure
  • Define dashboards and metrics; establish SLA for the work conducted
  • Create, review, and modify maintenance manuals, fault isolation manuals, Service bulletins
  • Proactively identify defects by reviewing system data logs
  • Collect data and generate weekly/monthly metrics on all issues reported, triaged and resolved meeting the defined SLA
  • Be an SME for HDW related technical issues and training other team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in an aircraft fleet support or engineering role, ideally within the Avionics industry
  • Ability to address and troubleshoot problems associated with aircraft-based equipment
  • Has used electronic test equipment before
  • Strong skills in reading electrical schematics
  • Knowledge with aircraft wiring (power, data bus, discrete I/O, Quadrax)
  • Experience with avionics and flight systems
  • This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident)
  • Beneficial to Have Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet familiarity
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with IP networking
  • FAA, RTCA & ARINC standards and regulations familiarity
