About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary delivery lead for the Operations workstream of a large federal technology program
- Own the roadmap and prioritization of the Operations portfolio
- Sequence work based on return on investment, risk, dependencies, and agency-wide technology mandates
- Balance 3–4 active projects with forward planning, staffing, and stakeholder management
- Build and maintain a collaborative relationship with the VA Operations lead
- Translate client priorities into an actionable roadmap and staffing plan
- Evaluate resumes and assess qualifications of infrastructure, security, and DevSecOps engineers
- Partner with technical leads to validate project approaches and level of effort
- Shape cost proposals for new Operations projects
- Contribute lessons learned, estimating assumptions, and staffing models from prior engagements
- Manage cross-portfolio impacts on related technology products
- Keep the federal client, delivery teams, and internal leadership aligned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience managing technology products and/or projects
- Associate's Degree with an additional 2 years of experience
- High school diploma with an additional 4 years of experience
- PMP, CSM/PSM, or equivalent project/product management certification
- Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure, security, or IT operations-focused technology projects
- Working familiarity with Linux and Windows server administration, relational databases such as Oracle, Salesforce, MuleSoft, and AWS Lambda/serverless services
- Experience building and maintaining product/project roadmaps and prioritizing multi-project portfolios based on ROI, risk, and stakeholder input
- Experience managing 3 or more concurrent projects with competing timelines, dependencies, and resource constraints
- Experience reviewing technical resumes and assessing infrastructure, security, or engineering candidates
- Experience contributing to cost proposals, estimates, or statements of work
- Strong working knowledge of Agile delivery practices and Jira and Confluence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assess and communicate impacts across related technology products
- Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Availability during core business hours of 8am–5pm ET
