About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Salesforce Developer will support the design, build, and maintenance of Salesforce features for the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Loan Guaranty Service (LGY).
- This role will be hands-on with Salesforce object mapping defects, validating Apex callouts and Named Credentials, implementing hotfixes, validating permission set configurations, monitoring Salesforce debug logs, and assisting in production deployments.
- This role supports both ongoing sustainment and incremental enhancements to an existing enterprise Salesforce implementation, requiring strong judgment, code quality, and the ability to work within established architectural and compliance constraints.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Develop custom Salesforce applications, components, and integrations using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and API services.
- Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Implement complex business logic, workflows, triggers, and automation.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable integrations with external systems.
- Ensure solutions adhere to Salesforce best practices and federal security and compliance standards.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and release management.
- Maintain documentation, technical designs, and deployment procedures.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed solutions.
- **Required Skills: **
- **Education & Experience (must meet one of the following):**
- o Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of Salesforce or relevant software development experience, OR
- o Associate’s degree + 7 years of Salesforce or relevant software development experience, OR
- o High School Diploma/GED + 9 years of Salesforce or relevant software development experience.
- Ability to obtain VA Public Trust Clearance.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I and Salesforce Administrator (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- Hands-on OmniStudio experience.
- **Preferred Skills**
- Current VA Public Trust Clearance.
- Platform Developer II, Advanced Administrator, or Salesforce App Builder.
- Experience supporting federal government agencies or working in a consulting environment.
- Experience supporting Salesforce deployments using structured DevOps and CI/CD practices (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Git-based workflows).
- Familiarity with Salesforce security, compliance, and FedRAMP requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
