About the role
- Support enterprise-wide IT projects for new construction, renovations, and Enterprise IT projects
- Provide strategic guidance, project planning, oversight, and management for implementation of Enterprise technology across new construction, renovations, and IT projects
- Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders and end-user groups to ensure initiatives are planned, designed, constructed, integrated, and delivered using hybrid SDLC and SELC methodology
- Gather stakeholder user network requirements and produce technical documentation, system requirements documents, systems security requirements documents, scope of work, and system test plans
- Design, install, maintain, and evaluate network systems and communications systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving various protocols, topologies, and networking hardware
- Assist with network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies
- Apply knowledge of internetworking, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to develop and improve network designs
- Responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, and addressing interoperability issues for switches, firewalls, load balancers, SDN, private cloud requirements, and application dependencies
- Serve as SME advisor for verifying building IT, network design, and construction documentation
- Read, understand, and apply industry standards to complex IT documents (diagrams, blueprints, PORs, agreements, contracts, surveys, proposals)
- Provide cross-team collaboration, stakeholder communication, and executive demonstrations/presentations
- Support baseline infrastructure of Cisco and Juniper network technologies including software defined networking
Requirements
- Active TS or SCI and eligible for Poly
- 13 years in IT and Networking
- Previous government network experience
- Experience creating, editing, and verifying building IT and network design and construction documentation (detailed network, block connect, wireline and elevation, configuration management diagrams, blueprints, construction narratives, building Program of Requirements (PORs), agreements, contracts, work letters, project charters, surveys, drawings, proposals)
- Experience reading, understanding, and applying existing industry standards to complex IT documents affecting network infrastructure projects
- Experienced with Cisco and Juniper network infrastructure including software defined networking
- Experience gathering stakeholder requirements using multiple methodologies
- Experience with cross-team collaboration, stakeholder communication, and executive demonstrations/presentations
- Knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues across protocols, topologies, and networking hardware
- Ability to assist with network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies
- Ability to apply technical and business experience to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure
- Ability to work independently and collectively in a team
- Ability to support Continuity of Operations (COOP) operations as needed
- Subject matter expert (SME) experience advising on building IT, network design and construction documentation
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work
