About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Leave of Absence Program Manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the leave of absence (LOA) program offering at Sequoia One PEO.
- Partner with the Client Compliance team to stay up to date on changing federal and state laws and regulations, and ensure LOA program at Sequoia One PEO is compliant.
- Create and update reference materials for LOA team, client contacts and impacted employees.
- Coordinate all types of leave, including medical, family, military, and personal leave with coordination of disability and family leave benefits and client top off pay supplements.
- Participates in daily operations to ensure effective leave intake, processing, and case management of claims; manages case queue, responds, and forwards requests/inquiries to appropriate parties.
- Serve as a secondary [to LOA Specialist] point of contact for client contacts regarding leave requests and providing guidance and support throughout the LOA process.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for day-to-day LOA-related matters for both internal and external clients.
- Coordinate with HRBP, Payroll and other relevant departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of leaves.
- Generate reports and analyze leave data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.
- Create and conduct training on leave policies, changing regulations, processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Attends training sessions to learn concepts, principles, practices, and applications of human resources and leave administration work.
- Studies applicable rules and regulations, and receives instruction in the interpretation and application of appropriate laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- 5-7 years of professional experience with Leave Administration, Payroll, HR, and Compliance.
- Superior working knowledge of federal and state leave laws such as FMLA and ADA.
- Proficient in HRIS and leave management systems.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to clients and internal team members.
- Proven interpersonal skills to exhibit empathy, understanding, tact, cooperation, concern, and politeness to work with an array of people and situations.
- Solutions-oriented collaborator.
- Detail and process oriented.
- Ability to understand client needs and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Superior analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
