About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Observe changes in patient conditions and respond with appropriate interventions
- Use clinical judgment to address complex health situations
- Consult with medical team members as needed
- Document care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Perform competent nursing care using the nursing process
- Conduct assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation
- Apply professional nursing standards including ethics, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health
- Meet clinical knowledge and skill standards for the Medical Telemetry unit
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Registered nursing license (required)
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- No experience required
- One year of acute care experience preferred
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered
- Students obtaining a Registered Nursing license may be considered
- Ability to perform competent nursing care using the nursing process
- Clinical knowledge and skills meeting standards for the specific clinical area
