Pharmacy Technician – Specialty Case Management
Sentara HealthPharmacy Technician assisting in Specialty Case Management pharmacy at Sentara Health. Responsible for medication delivery and support under pharmacist supervision while maintaining quality assurance.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
- Previous Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
