Specialty Pharmacy Technician
Sentara HealthPharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital filling and delivering medications under supervision. Ensuring patient care continuity while managing pharmacy equipment and operations.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
- Previous Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
