About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide and communicate guidance, expertise, and support for parents and caregivers one-on-one and in group settings
  • Help youth, caregivers, and family members understand the mandates and perspectives of other team members while navigating through county systems
  • Use knowledge of community resources, school systems, or other mental health services to help families identify and connect to a family safety network and/or natural support team in the community
  • Ensure parent/caregivers perspectives shape planning decisions, safety and crisis plan, and service strategies
  • Actively contribute to team planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Attend and participate in mental health awareness activities in the community
  • Participate in weekly supervision/mentorship with the supervisor or designee
  • Maintain accurate documentation including mental health notes, timesheets, expense reports, and mileage
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Personal lived experience as the parent or legal guardian of a youth who received services from child-serving systems (child welfare/foster care/adoption, juvenile justice/probation, mental/behavioral health, special education, etc.)
  • Bilingual Spanish skill set, pass language proficiency assessment
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled with supervisor ahead of time
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
