About the role

  • Independently manage day-to-day financial accounting (general ledger and sub-ledgers)
  • Prepare internal monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and assist in preparing reporting packages for the group’s quarterly close
  • Post closing entries, provisions, accruals and valuations
  • Ensure correct accounting treatment and perform account reconciliations
  • Responsible for VAT filings (domestic and international)
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors and group finance departments
  • Act as the point of contact for internal departments on all accounting and financial reporting matters
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and group-internal accounting requirements

Requirements

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship or degree with a focus on accounting/finance
  • Several years of professional experience as a Senior Accountant, Bilanzbuchhalter (certified accountant) or sole accountant
  • Solid knowledge of accounting under HGB required; knowledge of IFRS desirable
  • Experience with group-level consolidation desirable
  • Proficiency in DATEV and common Microsoft Office applications required
  • Excellent German language skills at native-speaker level
