About the role

  • Hands-on leader responsible for building the core Agent product
  • Spend at least 50% of time hands-on with Python building core platform capabilities and optimizing LLM performance
  • Set technical direction, define standards, review critical code, ensure architectural alignment with product vision
  • Design and implement agent framework, orchestration systems, and LLM integration patterns
  • Make critical decisions about model selection, prompt strategies, and system architecture
  • Mentor senior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and elevate team expertise
  • Collaborate across distributed teams and work remotely across time zones

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years applying AI/ML in practice
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership position
  • Deep knowledge of LLMs, context management strategies, prompting strategies, tool use, prompt caching, multi-modality, structured outputs, model-provider-specific differences
  • Strong understanding of model sampling parameters (top-p, temperature)
  • Ability to make architectural decisions that scale with model improvements
  • Proficiency with Python (hands-on, at least 50% time)
  • Proven ability to drive technical decisions and influence architecture
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex AI concepts
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers
  • Experience with AI-native application best practices
