About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the disposition of a portfolio of REO assets from acquisition through final sale
  • Develop and execute asset-specific strategies to maximize recovery and minimize expenses
  • Review appraisals, Broker Price Opinions (BPOs), and market data to establish asset valuations and disposition strategies
  • Monitor market conditions and asset performance and recommend pricing, marketing, and disposition activities
  • Ensure assets comply with investor, company, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain ownership of assigned assets and drive resolutions within established service level expectations
  • Oversee and manage third-party vendors, including brokers, property preservation companies, valuation providers, and closing agents
  • Manage internal processes and vendor performance
  • Monitor timelines and milestones to ensure timely sale and disposition of assets
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting is received, reviewed, and distributed to stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate issues affecting recovery, compliance, or disposition timelines
  • Identify operational efficiency improvements and recommend process enhancements
  • Remain current on mortgage servicing regulations, investor requirements, and industry best practices
  • Support departmental initiatives, audits, and special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of REO Asset Management, Default Servicing, Loss Mitigation, or Mortgage Servicing experience
  • Strong knowledge of REO disposition processes, investor requirements, property valuation methodologies, and default servicing operations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assets, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, including real estate brokers, preservation companies, and valuation providers
  • Familiarity with agency, government, GSE, and private investor requirements related to REO asset disposition
  • Prior experience within mortgage servicing, default servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or loss mitigation environments
  • Experience working with investor scorecards, timelines, and performance metrics
  • Strong understanding of REO timelines, investor guidelines, and property preservation practices
  • Experience with REO management platforms such as Equator, Pyramid, or similar systems
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
