The Database Administrator I is responsible for performing the tasks necessary for maintaining our database infrastructure and automating those tasks whenever possible.
The Database Administrator I will work with the Help Desk Application Development and other teams to provide them with support and task resolution.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Validating requests for user access and enabling user access to data assets
Troubleshooting user access issues
Performing ad-hoc backups and restores
Troubleshooting scheduled tasks
Performing simple deployment tasks
Education and Experience: Minimum 0-2 years of experience working with SQL Server and a minimum of 0-2 years of overall IT experience
Physical Requirements: Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Understanding of native database backup and recovery methodologies
Understanding of database security and how it can integrate with identity management systems
