About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure proper, timely preparation of annual standalone financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Ensure regulatory compliance with tax law, reporting obligations and statutory requirements
- Manage operational and strategic financial planning, including budgeting processes, forecasts and multi-year planning
- Overall leadership of the Finance organization in Germany, overseeing multiple team leads in Accounting, Business Controlling, Liquidity Management/Treasury and Tax
- Act as a sparring partner to executive management on investment decisions, profitability analyses and commercial matters
- Represent the company to external auditors, financial institutions and relevant authorities
- Maintain close coordination with Group Finance and Internal Audit to ensure consistent reporting and control standards
- Responsible for financial valuations in the context of acquisitions and for supporting the integration of new entities
- Operational involvement in key areas such as performance management, working capital management and management of financial liabilities
- Further develop the system landscape, governance structures and internal control mechanisms
- Build and develop high-performing leadership teams, including structured succession planning
- Shape a performance-oriented yet collaborative leadership culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree with a focus on finance, accounting or equivalent; additional professional qualifications are welcome
- Extensive professional experience in finance with several years of overall responsibility for larger units in Germany
- Deep expertise in accounting under HGB; IFRS knowledge is an advantage
- Solid knowledge of German tax and commercial law
- Proven experience leading complex organizations as well as in transformation or optimization projects
- Strategic competence and the ability to position Finance as a business enabler
- Very good German and English skills (at least C1 level each)
- Confident user of ERP systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to connect stakeholders at different levels
- Industry experience in capital-intensive or asset-based business models is a plus
- Pragmatism, decisiveness and a clear leadership approach
