About the role

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of Tuition Assistance, Technology Benefit, Wellness, Disaster Relief, and Benefits Orientation programs
  • Ensure programs are accessible, equitable, and responsive to the needs of diverse family child care providers across California
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate benefits programs with other organizational initiatives
  • Supervise, mentor, and support four direct reports: Managers of Tuition Assistance, Technology Benefit, Wellness, and Benefits Orientations
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages professional growth and innovation
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
  • Engage with family child care providers to gather feedback and insights to inform program improvements
  • Represent the Benefits Department in meetings with partners, stakeholders, and community organizations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers to enhance program offerings
  • Monitor program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational priorities
  • Implement data-driven approaches to assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a programmatic leadership role
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience working with internal and external stakeholders
  • 2+ years of experience supervising staff
  • 1+ years of experience developing and monitoring program-level budgets
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing new education programs and initiatives
  • Experience working with diverse communities, including low-income women of color
  • Strong understanding of social and economic justice issues, with knowledge of the union landscape
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally, with the ability to represent the organization effectively and convey insights and recommendations to internal teams
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret program data and feedback into actionable insights
